I was born in 2001 in Graz.
At the age of 12, I attended my first ceramics course with Selma Etareri (DA LOAM) and discovered my great love for ceramics, a passion that has stayed with me ever since.
Over the years, Selma continued to guide me and remains my most important mentor to this day.
In 2021, I completed my Matura and formal professional training as a ceramic artist at HTBLVA Ortwein in Graz, specializing in Art and Design – Ceramic Art and Craft.
My diploma project, “Signs of Life”, explored in depth the significance of haptics and the effect of clay on human beings.
As part of this work, I created a sculpture made of black clay and porcelain, artistically interpreting the theme.
In 2022, I gained valuable experience as an intern in Spain with the artist couple Mia Llauder and Joan Serra in their open studio, where I was able to deepen and expand my knowledge. I continue to develop my skills through further training, including porcelain workshops in Italy and a masterclass in London with Eric Landon (Tortus).
In 2024 and 2025, I worked as an instructor and ceramic artist at one of Vienna’s largest ceramics studios, “Fresh Ceramics.”
I have now opened Studio Johanna in Graz, where I offer courses in a warm, relaxed, and personal atmosphere.
My goal is to create a space where calmness, relaxation, and creativity provide balance to the demands of everyday working life. I accompany all course participants with great empathy and professional expertise.
My motto:
"With the right support and a little patience,
everyone is capable of creating their dream piece."
